The 25th China Xiamen International Stone Fair is scheduled on March 16-19, 2025 in Xiamen International Conference and
Exhibition Center (XICEC). As a global leading stone exhibition, Xiamen Stone Fair is divided into 8 exhibition areas with
as total space of 191,000 sq.m., opening up a comprehensive platform and connecting in a broad circle.
In 2025, the theme of Xiamen Habitat Design and Life Festival is "Flow", which not only shows of the active situation of the design and stone industry, but also hopes that the industry will continue to move forward and shape the future. With the keen perspective and unique creativity of design, the event will capture, understand and express the trend, so as to break the traditional shackles, convey creative imagination, and play a crucial role in promoting the industry innovation.
The chief curator of Habitat Interior Design Exhibition 2025 is Steve Leung, collaborating with leading figures in interior design sector including TT. Tang, Xie Ke, Danny Cheng, Ray Wong, Peng Zheng, Ray Chuang and Wang Peng. Through the power of design, we create a flowing, changing and vibrant spatial form, dissolve the boundary between stone and everything, and open a new perceptual journey.
Gales were once breezes and ripples make waves.
Raging waves in the ocean begin from insignificant ripples, so do great thoughts originate from tiny attempts. The spirit of the ocean is breathed into this space, presenting in the form of fluent curves soaring up to the heights. Natural stones are the gifts from nature, possessing a unique evolving palette. From the tranquility at the entrance to the boiling waves, the visitor is guided into a journey of exploration, step by step, experiencing the natural texture of the stone, and sensing their transfer in colour - from dark blue to its shallower shades, from pale green to pure white. A sensation of never-ending flowing surges, leaving visitors in a space face to face with the sea, dancing with the currents and engaging with the nature.
‘Rising Winds, Forming Waves’ intends to show the reverence for the nature, and pay tribute to every effort made. Every stone piece is a little sprout of wave, together they march in grand tides. We believe, every effort counts, that they merge into the power pushing the world forward.
The design’s concept is ‘Space within Space’ and presents a richness of layers and depths. The form of a Chinese pavilion carries the spatial sensation of ‘halt’ and ‘closure’, inviting visitors into a secret place of meditation.
The light-shadow appliances visualizes the air and light. The resonating effects enhance the sounds and strengthen visitor’s experience with all the five senses, building an atmosphere of thoughtful and emotional flowing, relating to the exhibition theme, in which a feeling of being inspired and satisfied bubbles up like a fresh spring. The ‘flowing’ line takes the structure of a double circle, guiding visitors on an exploration through space. Here, the material is no longer the theme of space, while serves as the background that carries the traces in time, leaving more room for imagination in life, and waking the deep down sentiment for nature and life, hence the design reaches further than sole eyesight and arrives at the depth of the heart.
This design has its inspiration from natural caves which are known as spaces of gloom pierced by light from holes and slits large and small. Nature has its own tone of richness - every piece of pebble, every hill and mountain, carries on memories of its life, from the birth towards the future.
Thus, the designer decided to implement such gifts from nature in the presentation of the flow, and the law of nature.
Everything stems from an explosion, the Big Bang. As time elapses, Heaven and Earth are formed. The scorching lava and magma flow and turn into ground, mountains and valleys. Therefrom all kinds of stones took their form through time, under heat and pressure.
The textures and striations of marbles flow from the ancient past when it was born and reach the present, being a sign of its uniqueness, just like all the unique individuals we are – shaped by our various courses of life. With us, you shall see this life story of marble by means of the turning and winding lines. The dim LED light and the background pictures together with the flowing sound of magma guide the visitors through an obscure valley of lava on a nature-appreciating journey.
This project has its inspiration from marble sculpture. Marble is an eternal and respectable material for the art of sculpture, with over thousand years of history. The journey from its birth hundreds of miles deep in the Earth towards the end of an art piece is itself fascinating.
Therefore, in this project, RMA wishes to make something that is unique. Michelangelo liberated from marble his masterpieces including ‘David’ and ‘the Rebellious Slave’, every wield of his chisel soaked in emotion and life, every strike is unique, and forceful. He asserted, ‘every sculpture is by itself a life, sealed in marble; what I did is no more than liberate them therefrom’. We wish to redefine such forceful strikes, in the hope of reaching an irregular piece of art rich in the sense of motion, thus present to the public an idea we hold dear.
Different rhythms and spatial motions tell the relationship between art and life. Our audience shall be completely free to explore this space woven in inspiration. ‘Free from Stone’ presents both the understanding and praxis with regard to classical art practices from the point of view of the Habitat Design and Life Festival and of RMA.
In this project, the biological concept ‘coexistence’ is borrowed. Here, the concept is consolidated through the integration of ‘wood’ and ‘green stone’, whereby quarries undergo sustainable improvements. Design should focus as much on ‘greenness’ as in aesthetics, reminding humans to bear reverence for nature while exploiting natural resources.
The designer explores the possibility of the human-nature mutual dependence and material recyclability to incarnate the idea of coexistence.
The theme of this space is ‘Standing Still’, which signifies the tough spirit of stone. The open layout and streamlined design will guide the audience to start a journey of self-discovery. Incorporating MBTI theory and dynamic geometric design, the stone sculpture is the core of this space.
Every whirligig figure is a mirror with reflections of the richness and beauty of humanity, serving as a reminder of keeping the value of courage and open-mindedness in the fast-paced modern life. By the end of the journey, the harmony between the individual and the community is reached.
Here, the bouncing music notes are visualized into tangible marble sculptures, whereby the emotional art pieces are realized by the means of sensibility. Meanwhile, the warmth is integrated into the cold, hard stone by every movement of the handicraft. The final work is thus a section of a perpetual, solid symphony.
We look forward to seeing you in the spring at Xiamen Stone Fair on March 16-19, 2026.
